PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

Our partner, ABN AMRO Clearing, is a global leader in the domain of clearing, offering access to a wide range of listed instruments on markets across the globe.

IT is at the heart of their organization with more than 30 different product teams and 10 different platform teams that are trying to build the best products & services for their customers.

Their presence in important financial centers like Amsterdam, Chicago, Sydney, Singapore, Tokyo Hong Kong, London, Sao Paulo, Frankfurt and Iasi, allows them to effectively serve clients worldwide and maintain close proximity to their diverse customer base.

THE ROLE INVOLVES:

The Clearing Data Platform block is the heart of data for ABN AMRO Clearing. It receives data from various source systems to ultimately combine it into a large data lake that hosts the data for most of our (future) reporting applications and is currently already used for many of the analytical requirements from our operations departments.

The team is also responsible for many other data related applications like Tableau and Collibra.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain the data tools within our Clearing Data Platform team. This includes patching, upgrading, troubleshooting, configuration and communication with other teams on connectivity (like CISO IAM team for authentication, authorization or Platform team for backend integration).
• Keep an eye out for future technologies and options to further improve the governance of our data landscape with (potential) improved tools.
• Collaborate with developers on software requirements.
• Encourage and build automated processes wherever possible.
• React quickly to feedback to continuously improve processes.
• Build a bridge to the cloud platform teams.

TECHNICAL PLAYGROUND:

• Relevant experience with SQL: query writing and optimization, data transformation and aggregation, data structuring.
• Relevant System Administration experience with Linux/ BSD and SQL databases.
• Good understanding of core concepts for Operating Systems and Networking.
• Scripting experience with Python or Shell.
• Experience with other data related tooling to further improve the collaboration within the team: DBT, AWS Data Related Services (like Redshift, Athena, S3).
• Knowledge of AWS IAM and Networking (VPC, Security Group etc.) can be a great plus.
• Infosec fundamentals.
• Automation and CI/CD tools.

NICE TO HAVE: 

• Experience in maintaining, patching, installing and configuring the following Data tools: Tableau (on-premise) or Collibra.
• A demonstrated record of achievement in large technical (migration) projects.
• Strong engineering instinct (do the right thing) and a deep understanding of computer science.
• Awareness of critical concepts in DevOps and Agile principles.
• University degree in Computer Science/Engineering.
• Understanding of financial services and risk management in general.
• Ability to keep up with software and cloud development trends and innovation, eager to learn new technologies and tools.
