THE ROLE INVOLVES:

In the Public Cloud Platform team, you become part of a global team that works on establishing the right landing ground for new workloads on AWS to build upon.

Your team will consist out of 4-6 other AWS Cloud Platform Engineers that work on making a safe, compliant, and consumable platform.

You’ll also be working together with other engineers and colleagues from (for example) the Development Services team, that help support the move from our current on-premise way of working to the AWS Cloud DevOps way of working.

Responsibilities:

• Support new cloud initiatives or migrations from on-premises to AWS
• Improve CI/CD pipelines
• Collaborate with developers on software requirements
• Encourage and build automated processes wherever possible
• React quickly to feedback to continuously improve processes
• Informally train and share your DevOps knowledge within the team
• Build a bridge to the cloud platform teams

TECHNICAL PLAYGROUND:

• 5+ years of experience as a DevOps Engineer
• Proven experience with working on AWS using IaC (CloudFormation, CDK)
• 5+ years of experience working with Python
• Experience working with code version control tools like GIT
• Experience with AWS Services categories specifically used by our partner:
  • Compute
  • Storage
  • Serverless
  • Databases
  • Container

• Experience with automation software like Jenkins or AWS Code Pipeline
• Experience in test driven development, SOLID principle, Twelve-factor app methodology
• Experience in Microservices architecture, distributed systems

NICE TO HAVE: 

• Experience in Data Analytics or Security within the AWS environment
• AWS Solution Architect Certification or AWS Developer Certification
• Awareness of critical concepts in DevOps and Agile principles
• A demonstrated record of achievement in large technical (migration) projects
• Ability to keep up with software and cloud development trends and innovation
• Understanding of financial services and risk management in general
• University degree in Computer Science/Engineering

• Fluent English, with good written and verbal communication skills
• Strong engineering instinct (do the right thing), a deep understanding of computer science
• Strong interpersonal and assertive communication skills, great team member
• Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
