PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
Our partner, ABN AMRO Clearing, is a global leader in the domain of clearing, offering access to a wide range of listed instruments on markets across the globe.
IT is at the heart of their organization with more than 30 different product teams and 10 different platform teams that are trying to build the best products & services for their customers.
Their presence in important financial centers like Amsterdam, Chicago, Sydney, Singapore, Tokyo Hong Kong, London, Sao Paulo, Frankfurt and Iasi, allows them to effectively serve clients worldwide and maintain close proximity to their diverse customer base.
THE ROLE INVOLVES:
The Data Governance Platform Engineer helps develop, configure and improve the Data Governance platform (Collibra) as a core capability for data governance and metadata transparency. Based in Iasi, Romania, the engineer works with the Data Management team, platform engineers, architects and business stakeholders across different locations.
The role combines practical Collibra development with web and user-experience engineering. The engineer translates business needs into maintainable platform solutions, improves the usability of Collibra through tailored pages and user journeys, and supports workflows, integrations, automation and platform operations.
The objective is to increase adoption and business value from Collibra while maintaining stable, scalable and supportable solutions. This is a hands-on delivery role for someone who can learn quickly, work across functional and technical topics, and take ownership from requirement through implementation and support.
Experience with Collibra is a plus, but not a requirement. We are primarily targeting engineers who are comfortable with scripting, integrations, and platform configuration, and who are motivated to grow their expertise in the data governance space.
Responsibilities:
Configure and enhance Collibra capabilities, including the operating model, asset types, relations, roles, responsibilities, workflows, assessments and policies.
Translate business and data-governance requirements into practical, maintainable Collibra solutions.
Design and build user-friendly Collibra pages, interfaces and navigation using web technologies such as HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
Develop and maintain workflows and automation using BPMN 2.0, Groovy and Collibra APIs.
Build and support integrations for metadata onboarding, data lineage and exchange with enterprise applications, databases and data platforms.
Apply version control, testing and structured deployment practices to platform changes.
Collaborate with data owners, stewards, architects, engineers, vendors and governance teams, and document solutions to support knowledge transfer and operational continuity.
TECHNICAL PLAYGROUND:
3+ years of software development experience, ideally in roles involving platform customization, automation, or integration.
2+ years of hands-on front-end development experience using HTML, CSS and JavaScript, with the ability to create usable pages and intuitive user journeys.
Practical experience with APIs and system integrations, including REST APIs, authentication, and structured data formats such as JSON.
Experience developing workflows or process automation; BPMN 2.0 and Groovy experience are preferred.
Understanding of data-governance and metadata concepts such as business glossaries, data ownership, data cataloguing and lineage.
Experience with Git-based version control, testing and structured deployment or CI/CD practices.
NICE TO HAVE:
Experience configuring or developing Collibra, or a comparable enterprise metadata, data catalogue or data-governance platform, is an advantage.
Experience with SQL, Python or Java, databases, ETL/metadata ingestion, or cloud platforms such as AWS.
Hands-on and delivery-focused, with the ability to translate business requirements into working solutions (scalable platform configurations).
Awareness of critical Agile concepts and principles.
Relevant Bachelor's/ Master's degree.
SOFT SKILLS:
Fluent English, with good written and verbal communication skills.
Strong analytical, problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Comfortable collaborating across business, data-governance and engineering teams in an international environment.
Able to work independently, take ownership and communicate progress, risks and decisions clearly.
Curious and adaptable, with a desire to continuously learn and improve in a complex, evolving environment.
