THE ROLE INVOLVES:

• Design, develop, and maintain high-quality backend applications and services using Java and its ecosystem.

• Build scalable, secure, and high-performance systems, including microservices and distributed applications.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and translate them into robust technical solutions.

• Contribute to technical design and architecture decisions, with a focus on maintainability and long-term value.

• Write clean, testable code and contribute to automated testing, code reviews, and engineering quality practices.

• Troubleshoot and optimize applications and production systems for reliability, availability, and performance.

• Share knowledge, mentor colleagues, and support the professional growth of other engineers.

• Contribute to continuous improvement by promoting engineering standards, automation, and effective delivery practices.

• Use AI-assisted engineering practices where appropriate to support design, implementation, debugging, code review, testing, documentation, research, and task breakdown.

• Critically review and validate solutions, including AI-generated output, against requirements, edge cases, security standards, and engineering best practices, while maintaining ownership of the final result.

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, with a strong focus on backend development.

• Strong proficiency in Java and solid knowledge of the Java ecosystem.

• Experience with Spring or Spring Boot and enterprise application development.

• Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs and microservices or distributed systems.

• Solid understanding of object-oriented design, software architecture principles, and common design patterns.

• Experience with SQL and relational databases; exposure to NoSQL technologies is an advantage.

• Experience with automated testing and a strong focus on code quality, maintainability, and performance.

• Hands-on experience with Git and modern collaborative software development practices.

• Practical experience with at least one major cloud platform, such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, including working with cloud-based services and deployments.

• Practical experience using AI-powered development tools in software engineering workflows, together with the judgment to apply them responsibly and effectively.

NICE TO HAVE:

• Experience with Kafka, messaging systems, or event-driven architectures.

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions, or Argo CD.

• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, AWS CDK, or CloudFormation.

• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, or other container and orchestration technologies.

• Knowledge of observability principles and tools for logging, monitoring, and tracing, such as Splunk, ELK, Grafana, or Prometheus.

• Experience supporting or optimizing production systems for high availability and performance.

• Experience with large-scale systems, technical modernization, or migration initiatives.

• Relevant cloud or Java certifications and contributions to technical communities or open-source projects.

• Fluent English, with good written and verbal communication skills.

• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

• Collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively with colleagues and customer teams.
