PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
Our partner, ABN AMRO Clearing, is a global leader in the domain of clearing, offering access to a wide range of listed instruments on markets across the globe.
IT is at the heart of their organization with more than 30 different product teams and 10 different platform teams that are trying to build the best products & services for their customers.

THE ROLE INVOLVES:
We are looking for a Data Governance Engineer with a strong software development background and a genuine interest in the data governance domain.
Our customer is using a data governance platform, currently Collibra, which is still in its early stages of adoption. The selected candidate will play a key role in shaping, extending, and industrializing the platform by building workflows, automations, and API-driven integrations.
Experience with Collibra is a plus, but not a requirement.
We are primarily targeting engineers who are comfortable with scripting, integrations, and platform configuration, and who are motivated to grow their expertise in the data governance space.
Working closely with data governance, data architecture, and engineering teams, you will help the business maximize the value of its data assets by delivering scalable, maintainable, and well-integrated governance solutions.
Responsibilities:
Implement business and technical requirements within the data governance platform (Collibra or similar tools).
Design, build, and maintain workflows, operating models, assessments, roles, policies, and governance processes.
Develop and maintain API-driven integrations between the data governance platform and enterprise applications.
Create and maintain automated metadata onboarding and extraction processes using platform APIs.
Establish and maintain proper code and configuration management, including version control, deployment processes, and best practices.
Support the continuous evolution of the platform by exploring and implementing new features to improve usability, automation, and scalability.
Advise business and data stakeholders on effective usage of the data governance platform.
TECHNICAL PLAYGROUND:
4+ years of software development experience, ideally in roles involving platform customization, automation, or integration.
Strong scripting skills, ideally with Groovy (or similar scripting languages).
Experience designing and implementing workflows (e.g., BPMN-based or script-driven).
Solid understanding of API-based integrations, automation, and system-to-system communication.
Experience working with version control systems and structured deployment processes.
Familiarity with DevOps practices and engineering best practices.
NICE TO HAVE:
Understanding of data governance concepts such as data ownership, metadata management, business glossaries, and data lineage.
Experience configuring or customizing Collibra is a nice to have, not a requirement.
Exposure to other data governance or metadata management tools is also considered a plus.
Experience integrating governance platforms with:
SaaS tools (e.g. ServiceNow, SailPoint, Jira, Confluence);
ETL tools, data pipelines, or databases.
Ability to translate business requirements into scalable platform configurations, even in evolving or ambiguous environments.
Awareness of critical Agile concepts and principles.
Relevant Bachelor's/ Master's degree.
SOFT SKILLS:
Fluent English, both written and verbal.
Strong engineering instinct (do the right thing), a deep understanding of computer science.
Strong interpersonal and assertive communication skills, great team member.
Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Desire to continuously learn and improve in a complex, rapidly evolving environment.
