PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

Our partner, ABN AMRO Clearing, is a global leader in the domain of clearing, offering access to a wide range of listed instruments on markets across the globe.

IT is at the heart of their organization with more than 30 different product teams and 10 different platform teams that are trying to build the best products & services for their customers.

Their presence in important financial centers like Amsterdam, Chicago, Sydney, Singapore, Tokyo Hong Kong, London, Sao Paulo, Frankfurt and Iasi, allows them to effectively serve clients worldwide and maintain close proximity to their diverse customer base.

THE ROLE INVOLVES:

Our partner, ABN AMRO Clearing, is expanding its engineering capability and is looking for a Fullstack Engineer to support the evolution of their global Client Portal.

In this role, you will focus exclusively on the Client Portal, a key product used daily by over 400 corporate clients worldwide to manage payment instructions, settlement instructions, and other critical workflows.

You will contribute to both frontend and backend development, but the emphasis is building and enhancing REST APIs.

This assignment is focused on migrating the Client Portal from its current architecture and design to a new, improved setup.

Responsibilities:

• Develop clean and maintainable Angular (TypeScript) frontend code.

• Design, build, and migrate APIs using TypeScript (NestJS) and Python where applicable.

• Consume APIs effectively in the frontend.

• Write unit tests and ensure robust, high-quality code across both frontend and backend.

• Ensure proper logging, traceability, and observability of services.

• Work with PostgreSQL databases, including data modelling and querying.

• Take ownership of your work by documenting solutions, design decisions, and processes.

• Actively share knowledge to ensure solutions are maintainable and can be owned by the team.

TECHNICAL PLAYGROUND:

• Strong experience as a Fullstack Engineer with Angular, TypeScript, and NestJS

• 5+ years of experience developing and migrating APIs – preferably with NestJS

• Solid understanding of API design and consumption

• Experience with PostgreSQL databases

• Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines – experience with tooling such as Jenkins and GitLab

• Knowledge of containerization technologies like Docker

• Basic understanding of OpenShift or other Kubernetes based solutions

• Understanding of logging, monitoring, and traceability best practices

NICE TO HAVE:

• Basic knowledge of Python

• Basic understanding of OAuth 2.0 authentication

• Awareness of critical concepts in DevOps and Agile principles

• Understanding of financial services and risk management in general

• University degree in Computer Science/Engineering

SOFT SKILLS:

• Fluent English, with strong written and verbal communication skills

• Ownership mindset with a strong focus on documentation and knowledge sharing

• Strong engineering mindset and solid understanding of computer science fundamentals

• Attention to detail: thorough in code reviews, design documents, and production operations

• Good interpersonal and communication skills; comfortable working in a team environment

• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities

• Willingness to continuously learn and grow in a fast-moving technical environment
