THE ROLE INVOLVES:
Within ABN AMRO IT Services Romania S.R.L., a full subsidiary of ABN AMRO Clearing, the focus is on finding the best talent in the market and build the best IT applications & platforms possible.
This role provides operational support to the HR function, with a focus on occupational health and safety, payroll and timesheet administration, benefits management, and personnel administration backup (employment documentation, contracts, addenda) to ensure continuity of HR operations.
In addition, the role supports the implementation and monitoring of local compliance requirements, acting as a key liaison between the local entity, management, and Group Compliance to help maintain a strong compliance culture and adherence to internal policies and regulatory obligations.
Responsibilities:
Take ownership of the monthly payroll process, ensuring accurate and timely preparation, validation, and submission of payroll data.
Collect, review, and reconcile timesheets, payroll information, benefits, and compensation-related records.
Act as the main point of contact for the external payroll provider, handling corrections, clarifications, and process improvements.
Administer the employee benefits platform, including monthly allocations and employee support.
Provide HR support for shift-based teams by monitoring compliance with working time regulations, overtime, and shift-related allowances.
Act as the designated Occupational Health & Safety (HSE) representative and coordinate compliance activities with external providers.
Organize mandatory HSE training, occupational health examinations, and maintain related documentation and records.
Support the implementation and monitoring of local compliance requirements in collaboration with the Group Compliance organization, including coordination of compliance-related activities, support for local risk assessments, monitoring of mandatory training completion, maintenance of compliance records, and escalation of compliance concerns where appropriate.
Serve as backup for personnel administration activities, including employment documentation, onboarding, offboarding, and employee record maintenance.
TECHNICAL PLAYGROUND:
Experience: 3 years of prior experience in an HR administrative / generalist role
Proficient English at a business level (reading, writing, speaking)
HSE certification, or willingness to complete the designated HSE officer training
Good knowledge of Romanian labor legislation (Codul Muncii) is mandatory
Prior experience with payroll processes is an important advantage
Attention to details, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage strict legal deadlines
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
Able to work independently within an international team, juggling multiple priorities
Genuine drive to improve and streamline processes, spotting opportunities for automation and best practices
Strong operational efficiency, with attention to solid documentation and data accuracy
High sense of responsibility and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, supporting a team that operates on a 24/7 shift schedule
Completed higher education (preferably in economics, law, or human resources)
NICE TO HAVE:
Full independent ownership of the payroll process from day one – the objective is to progressively take over the complete payroll cycle, including the initial and final checks with verification, within an agreed timeframe
Curious about AI and its practical use in HR operations and automation
HR or administrative certifications (e.g., Human Inspector Certification) are a plus
