THE ROLE INVOLVES:
An Application Support Engineer forms the important connection between the business stakeholders and developers, consisting of a permanent core of people, supplemented with knowledge and expertise from other teams where necessary.
The scope of our customer's systems is large, and their technology leaders will trust you with one of their most important assets.
In this position you will be responsible for maintaining the critical business application landscape. You guarantee availability, resolve any issues and actively participate in preventing them.
Along with other Risk IT Engineers, you'll be working on large technical projects and help set the direction for the development of our customer's clearing and risk management application landscape.
Responsibilities:
- Managing the progress of incidents, problems and changes.
- Propose and implement solutions to improve application performance and reliability.
- Assess the impact of disruptions and changes in the applications.
- Actively contribute to team tasks and bring technical expertise to daily operations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve issues within multiple components of critical business systems.
- Document and communicate technical solutions effectively to stakeholders.
- Drive improvements in application management and automate processes.
To excel in this role, you should focus on problem-solving rather than being attached to specific tools and technologies. Your emphasis should be on ease of use, automation, performance, and security.
TECHNICAL PLAYGROUND:
- 3+ years of relevant experience as an Application Support Engineer.
- Proficiency in Linux and Bash scripting; experience with Python or C++ is a plus.
- Familiarity with ITIL and specific IT service management systems/tools/platform (ServiceNow, JIRA etc.).
- Experience in monitoring and maintaining critical business systems.
- Strong understanding of computer science fundamentals.
- Ability to create clear and comprehensive documentation.
NICE TO HAVE:
- Experience with PostgreSQL and monitoring platforms like Splunk.
- Exposure to migration projects and OpenShift.
- Familiarity with tools and platforms such as Kafka, Redis, Jenkins, Ansible, and Docker.
- Awareness of software and cloud development trends.
- Understanding of financial services and risk management.
- A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

- Customer-focused, proactive, and a strong sense of ownership.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
