THE ROLE INVOLVES:

The need for information security is growing at a fast pace especially within the banking sector, where there is much to be gained for cyber attackers. In the most recent years, weak security configurations (including password controls) allowed access rights to be circumvented causing breach of data, in addition to insecure or unstable network connectivity causes disruptions, breach of data integrity and confidentiality.
For this reason, our partner is constantly looking at ways to make their systems as safe as possible.
Responsibilities:
As an Experienced System Security Engineer, you will play a critical role in assessing and managing the security risks associated with their IT Systems. You will be responsible for performing the following activities:
Manage System Hardening initiatives to strengthen the security of the organization's IT infrastructure.
Review & approve Secure Baseline Configurations for various IT assets.
Conduct detailed security assessments to identify / risk rate & report baseline deviations.
Collaborate with global IT teams to analyze deviations & strategies to address identified vulnerabilities/deviations and reduce security risks.
Stay informed on the latest security threats, vulnerabilities, and industry trends to continuously improve security practices.
Monitor and troubleshoot baseline scan failures.
Provide training and support to staff on System Hardening best practices.
Encourage, consult, and explain security related issues to (senior) stakeholders.
Provide support for the planning, installation, and customization of Information Security products.
Identifying Security requirements for network/communication hardware, software, and services.
TECHNICAL PLAYGROUND:
3-5 years of experience in IT security, with a strong focus on system hardening and vulnerability management.
Proven relevant experience with Windows, Mac, Linux, and networking environments.
Experience with securing cloud environment - AWS & Azure.
Prior experience working directly with DISA-STIG or CIS benchmarks.
Strong knowledge of hardening techniques and scanning tools (preferably Nessus/ Tenable.SC).
Proven experience in conducting security assessments and implementing effective security controls.
Ability to analyze large datasets and provide clear, actionable advice to the business.
Ability to lead on security content, set standards, and guide System Security direction.
NICE TO HAVE:
Certifications such as the following would be desirable: CISSP, CEH, GIAC.
Broader exposure to enterprise-wide infrastructure security, automation, and tooling integrations.
Experience contributing to continuous improvement programs in mature security environments.
A keen interest in cyber security and a desire to learn.
Relevant University degree.
SOFT SKILLS:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; able to translate technical topics for non-technical audiences.
Cultural sensitivity when working with diverse nationalities.
Continuous-learning mindset and adaptability in a rapidly evolving environment.
